Biscuit
Biscuit

A call came into our phone line begging for help. A local business woman knew of a little dog that was about to be shot. She went on to say that about 7 months ago the little dog broke her leg but somehow it healed.?!?! Now the dog had broken her leg again and it wasnt healing so the owners were going to shoot it. Everyone was activated and we got ready everything we needed to intake this dog. When she arrived we couldnt believe it. She was the sweetest little girl and barely a year old. After x rays were taken we were informed that there was no saving her leg. Biscuit had her leg removed but gained a great family.

Abner
Abner

Abner was pulled from a rural shelter as a puppy. He was adopted to a great guy in the military. Once his owner was called away to war his family in another state agreed to take Abner in. Many months later we got a call from the out of state animal control facility saying that Abner was once again at their shelter and that this time the family was refusing to pick him up. We asked how many times Abner had been 'caught' and were told this was Abner's 3rd and final time. We arranged to have Abner transferred back to us and with the help of many volunteers he made his way back from Tennessee. Once back we realized Abner had grown into a unruly dog. He had no manners at all. After sending Abner to the coast for 2 months of training he found a wonderful home. One day at the local dog park on of our volunteers noticed a black lab that kept staring at her. He kept sitting right in front of her and smiling. Then right before she left she heard the black dog's mom call him Abner. YEP Abner remembered her but she didnt recognize her.

Cookie
Cookie

Poor Cookie had been adopted as a tiny puppy from a rural shelter but returned once she started growing. She lived in a concrete shelter waiting for someone that would give her another chance. While at the shelter the staff begged our volunteers to please take Cookie. So in the car she went. Within 3 days Cookie met her dad and her big sis Tika. She also got a new name Lucky.

Uno
Uno

Uno came to us with a broken leg. It literally wrapped around behind her and stuck out the other side. Uno had her leg rebroken and reset. She is now living a great life with the Bliss family. Feel free to stop by Hookah Bliss in Chapel Hill and ask about Uno .. now named Molly.

Gabby
Gabby

Gabby was abandoned at a local shelter with her puppies. A rescue came along and pulled all of her puppies but left Gabby to die. Needless to say we dont work that way and pulled Gabby the moment we found out. Gabby was afraid of the world but her foster mom taught her there were good people that would care for her. Along came Gabby's family that promised to never leave her behind again.
