We adopted Khloe(formerly Pumpkin) November 6, 2009. She has been with us almost a week and we can truly say she is a huge part of our family. She was underweight when we brought her home. But now, after a week, we can say she is a happy chiweenie who has gained a couple of ounces already! We love her!

I just wanted to give you an update on Doogie (now Bowzer). He is doing great. Bowzer has gained more than a pound and is beginning to adjust to his new family. It has been almost a month and Bowzer has already made some friends in the neighborhood. He follows me around all the time and is still afraid of children. Little by little, Bowzer is beginning to gain trust. I will send pictures soon.

I have had Bowzer (formally Doogie) since 9/20/09. Bowzer is adjusting nicely. He is still scared, especially around children. Bowzer has already gained more than a pound and is looking great. I thank you for letting me adopt him. I know he will be a great companion. We are bonding so well. I will send update pictures soon.

Hi SPARR,
On 9/8 I adopted Sampsom. I wanted to let you know that he is an awesome guy. He has been everything you described and way more. Not only did I rescue him, but he rescued me too.
Thanks again.

We have had Tori nearly 2 years now and can hardly believe the progress she has made. At 3years old coming from that VA puppymill she started out very shy and afraid. Now her tail is up and wagging and she is 110% friendlier. We will be bring her to the adopt-a-thon on Saturday so you can see what a difference a rescue makes. Thank you for allowing us to have her!!

I wanted to update you all on Parker (he's sleeping on my lap as I type this) Parker was the little 4 year old,2.8 lb Yorkie that was found in a dumpster in Pittsboro and lost one of his legs. Since my husband and I took him home (about 2 months now) we have seen such a change in him. He is full of energy-he runs just as fast as our four legged Jack Russell (Sadie). Parker loves to go for walks, but is content cuddle on the couch with me and watch a good Lifetime movie ;) He's my little buddy. I want to say "Thank you" to everyone who saved his life...because Parker has changed mine!

Hey guys,
We just wanted to update you on how wonderful Ozzie is doing. Stephen and I adopted him March 15. He has become very attached to us. He is very energetic and loves to be held like a baby. We are currently looking for his new little brother or sister to help keep him company. We also plan on having him in our wedding the summer of 2010. Thank you so much for taking care of Ozzie prior to his adoption!

Message From: Vinnie's Parents

Hi There!
I just wanted to tell you what a blessing Vinnie has been to our home! He is so spunky and full of energy and love and has just brought so much joy into our home! He is slowly gaining weight under the vet’s supervision and goes to doggie day care twice a week and exercises regularly in hopes of regaining muscle mass in his injured leg. He is learning his leash manners and now walks like a champ with my husband and I when we walk at Lake Pine. We’re also working with him to learn how to sit, stay, and lay down! He also loves to snuggle up with us on the couch after dinner in the evenings….our new favorite way to end the day!
He loves to run around our backyard chasing his ball, playing tug-o-war, chewing on his kong and playing with all of his 2 legged and 4 legged family members! He is an absolutely superstar with our niece (9yo) and nephew (2yo) and has shown only minimal fear when it comes to strangers. We take him with us everywhere we go so that he is exposed to many different people and situations and he is slowly coming out of his shell and becoming a fixture in downtown Apex on the weekends! He loves hanging out at Salem Street Pub and the ice cream shop with us!
Thank you so much for all that you do and for saving Vinnie’s life so that he could become a part of our family!

Hey, we had a very good trip to Atlanta. Clara has settled in very well. She is now sleeping with me at night which I wanted greatly. No inside accidents. She is responding more and more to her new name. She had a good bill of health at her new vet's this morning. I could not be happier and I think Clara agrees! My grandchildren and granddogs were very happy to have her around - heavy rain made humans a little nuts and the dogs, too!
